NORTH ANDOVER, MA — A police officer shot and wounded an off-duty police officer Monday evening in North Andover, Boston 25 News reported.

An armed confrontation occurred at the home of the off-duty police officer around 6:30 p.m. Police were issuing a restraining order to the off-duty officer, according to WHDH News-7.

The police officer fired their gun, injuring Kelsey Fitzsimmons, 28, the off-duty officer. Fitzsimmons has been with the department for 18 months, according to WHDH News-7.

Fitzsimmons was taken to a Boston-area hospital and is in stable condition.

The case is under investigation.
