Shoplifting and Turtle Trouble

The following are excepts from the North Andover Police log.

Wednesday, Aug. 28


At 10:11 a.m., a caller on Rosedale Avenue reported that his wife's car was broken into overnight.

At 2:44 p.m., a caller on Colgate Drive reported that her home was vandalized.

At 3:12 p.m., Kohl's reported a shoplifter. Genova Silvestre, 69, of 780 Washington St. Apt. C, Haverhill, was charged with shoplifting.

Thursday, Aug. 29


At 8:38 a.m., police found a dog loose on Route 114. The dog, a bichon frise with no collar, was taken to the Andover Animal Hospital.

At 1:36 p.m., Market Basket reported a shoplifter. Keith Drolet, 63, of 483 Lowell St., Methuen, was charged with shoplifting.

At 8:02 p.m., a caller reported that a turtle was causing a traffic hazard at the intersection of Johnson Street and Turnpike Street. Police did not find the turtle.

At 6:09 p.m., a caller at Moreski Meadows reported that her oven was on fire. The fire was contained and extinguished.
