
North Andover will be spraying town and school athletic fields and parks for mosquitoes Thursday, as a precaution after mosquitoes were found with West Nile virus in several nearby communities.
"This is a precautionary measure," the Health Department wrote in an announcement Wednesday. "North Andover has had no positive findings in humans or mosquito pools so far this year, however last week it was reported that pools of mosquitos tested positive for the West Nile Virus in the communities of Middleton, Lynn, Lynnfield, Saugus, Marblehead and Newburyport, as well as locations throughout the state."

The spraying is scheduled for Thursday at 8 p.m. to midnight, provided there is no rain. In case of rain, the spraying will be Monday.
