Uncommon Threads Holds its Annual Gala and Auction June 8
Fundraiser Promises a Fabulous Night Out with the Cause of Boosting Low-Income Women Through the Power of Clothing

Uncommon Threads will hold its annual Dress to Impress Gala at Salvatore’s Restaurant in Lawrence on June 8, from 5-8 p.m. This fun night out to celebrate women supports the mission of the non-profit: helping low-income women see and feel their true potential by using clothing and image as tools for building self-esteem and self-worth.
Attendees of the Gala will enjoy an array of fabulous food and drinks, a silent auction and paddle raise, shopping at Uncommon Closet, and hearing Uncommon Threads’ beautiful and confident clients share their courageous stories. Susan Wornick, an award-winning former anchor/reporter for WCVB-TV, will MC the event.
“The pandemic has made our mission of helping women in need elevate their self-esteem through clothing more relevant than ever,” said Heather Gasper, program director, Uncommon Threads. “Our styling sessions with clients have never been busier and the transformation we continue to see with each and every one is a constant motivator of how important these services are to the special women in our community. As our largest fundraiser of the year, this gala will help propel our organization forward so we can continue to offer this unique form of personalized care.”

About Uncommon Threads
Uncommon Threads helps low-income women see and feel their true potential by using clothing and image as tools for building self-esteem and self-worth. By combining clothing and individual styling services with personal development workshops, we help women improve their outer appearance and shift inner self-talk. These transformative services help our clients see the strong and capable woman within, boosting their sense of self and empowering them to make positive life changes. Each year, Uncommon Threads’ services touch the lives of more than 2000 low-income women in the greater Lawrence community. In addition to these services, Uncommon Threads also has a boutique store, Uncommon Closet, for the general public, which carries beautiful resale designer clothing at bargain prices. All proceeds from the store and the online store support the organization’s mission.
