One reader wanted to know what was going on with the new field construction on Dale Street. So I asked Town Manager Andrew Maylor.
There is a new field going in there, across from Gallagher Field, and it's the new Town Farm Athletic Field on town land known as the "Town Farm."
"The project is a joint collaboration of the Town’s Fields Committee, Youth Services, and Public Works and has been funded through Community Preservation Grant Funding and donations raised by the Booster’s Club," Maylor said.
The field will likely be completed and ready for kids to play on by spring 2015, Maylor added.
"This depends on weather conditions this fall to allow the turf to be established through one growing season," Maylor said.
As for parking, he said there will be a parking lot constructed along Dale Street in front of the new field.
