OT Win Puts Algonquin Boys Soccer in Semi-Finals

The Algonquin Regional High School varsity boys soccer team defeated host Shepherd Hill, 1-0, in overtime in the 2013 Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Boys Soccer Central Division 1 quarterfinals Monday night, according to the bracket website.
Algonquin will face Westborough in the semi-finals at 5 p.m. Wednesday, at Nashoba.
The Algonquin-Westborough winner will advance to the final against the winner of Wednesday night's semi-final between Groton-Dunstable and Wachusett.
Westborough beat the fifth-seeded Tomahawks, 2-1, at home on Oct. 29, according to the Midland-Wachusett League website.

Meanwhile, the Algonquin varsity girls soccer team now knows its semi-final opponent: Nashoba, which defeated visiting Shrewsbury, 5-0, in the 2013 Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Girls Soccer Central Division 1 quarterfinals Monday night.
Nashoba and Algonquin will play at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Nashoba.
The Nashoba-Algonquin semi-final winner faces Wednesday night's Wachusett-Westborough semi-final winner in the final on Saturday.
The top four teams in the bracket (in order) -- Westborough, Nashoba, Algonquin and Wachusett -- are in the semi-finals.
