Discuss a Book on Friday

Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your day in Northborough.

1. Attend a hearing clinic.

The Northborough Senior Center hosts a hearing clinic at 12:30 p.m. Friday.

2. Discuss a book.

The Northborough Free Library's Friday Morning Book Group will discuss "Major Pettigrew's Last Stand," by Helen Simonson, at 10 a.m. Friday.

3. In case you missed it: Coming soon: Cumberland Farms.

"One of the more modern Cumberland Farms, with the gas added in," will be built at the former Northborough Gulf site in downtown Northborough, Project Suoervisor Rick Kelley said Wednesday.

4. There's no school in Northborough on Friday.

Friday is a professional development day in the school district.

5. Root for the Tomahawks.

Here is Friday's Algonquin Regional High School sports schedule:

  • Freshman field hockey: vs. Hopkinton, 3:30 p.m.
  • Varsity field hockey: at Shrewsbury, 3:30 p.m.
  • JV field hockey: at Shrewsbury, 5 p.m.
  • Varsity football: at Groton-Dunstable, 7 p.m.
