Northborough Letter To Editor: Alexandra Turner For State Rep.

I am writing in support of Alexandra Turner, candidate for State Representative of the Worcester 12th District. I have known Alix for over 15 years, both as a colleague and a friend. Alix has led a life of service, including three terms as Select person for the Town of Lancaster, a Conservation Commissioner, a founding member and past president of the Land Trust and a member of the Federally Designated Scenic Rivers Steering committee. Currently, she is the Director of the Senior & Community Center of Lancaster. In addition, she serves as a member of many boards and committees that impact the citizens of Worcester County. With each role, Alix draws on her experience with municipal government budgets and services, her wide knowledge of state rules and regulations, and most importantly an abiding interest for the well-being of the citizens of Massachusetts.

As a co-worker, I witnessed Alexandra manage the special events at Tower Hill Botanic Garden. She worked with diverse groups and committees to execute the many exhibits and events held each year that are vital to the financial health of a non-profit organization. Alix’s programs were successful, engaging, had a creative edge and the organizers received her exemplary support and effort.

I most admire Alix’s breadth of knowledge regarding societal issues and solutions from thought leaders. Alix is pragmatic, she can think of solutions that achieve high social impact yet are fiscally prudent. Experience, knowledge, and thoughtful consensus will be of utmost importance with the challenges we face currently and will in the future. Alix will be able to join the working committees with ease and start contributing from day one.
