Northborough Photographer Creates Unique Image for Lowe's Meat Market

The panoramic composite was created by Northborough photographer Sue Teplansky, who had to work some magic to get everyone into the shot.

From Teplansky Photography: If a picture is worth a thousand words then there’s a lot of talk happening at Lowe’s Meat Market in Northboro. The popular market is proudly displaying an eye catching panoramic photograph that lets customers see all of the people who make the market run!

The panoramic composite was created by Northboro photographer Sue Teplansky, who had to work some magic to get everyone into the shot. “We couldn’t get everybody at once,” said Teplansky, “so I had groups of employees come to the studio at different times.” Then, using her skills with Photoshop, she merged the grouping into one image. The result is a seamless 7 foot long photograph, and market owner Tom Lowe is all smiles. “I was thrilled to assemble all of my employees into one big image that truly represents the Lowe's Meat Market family!”

Lowe’s Meat Market is a family owned and operated business with roots in Northboro that date back to the 1960s. The store has a friendly vibe where people come to shop and socialize. “We hear constantly from people who say ‘this feels like a place that I want to come back to all the time because you look at me, you talk to me, you’re part of my life,’” says Lowe proudly.

Teplansky, agrees. She has lived in Northboro for over twenty years, but had recently moved away. She returned a year later, opened a studio and joined Northboro Local First (NLF), a collaborative of independent businesses who promote shopping locally. That group led her to find inspiration at Lowe’s. “When I moved back here, I would run into people at Lowe’s and it felt good to be home. It’s kind of like the Cheers of Northboro.” So she approached Tom Lowe with an idea for a photograph. Teplansky then hired Gaston Art Frame, another local business, to print and mount the panoramic photo that now hangs in Lowe’s Meat Market.

Their combined efforts showcase the power of a community like Northboro where customers are also friends. “Everyone wants to know your name,” says Lowe. “We like to treat our customers as if they’re our family, and this picture really tells that story."
