Northborough Remembers Barbara Fitzgerald

Barbara M. (Cummins) Fitzgerald, 84, a longtime resident of Northborough, passed away Nov. 16, 2013, in the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Facility of Westborough. She was the widow of Paul J. Fitzgerald, who passed away in 1998.

Mrs. Fitzgerald leaves two sons, Mark Fitzgerald of Northborough, and Michael Fitzgerald and his wife Lisa of Shrewsbury; and four daughters, JoAnne Veduccio and her husband Mark of West Boylston, Paula Craft and her husband Robert of Weston, Maureen Ferris and her husband Edward of Norwood, and Susan Feeney and her husband Christopher of Northborough. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Fitzgerald was born and raised in Worcester, the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Ann (Stridgen) Cummins. She was a graduate of Ascension High School, Class of 1947.

Mrs. Fitzgerald was a devoted wife and mother; her family meant everything to her. In addition to family life she enjoyed spending time gardening. She was a longtime member of the St. Rose of Lima Parish in Northborough.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, from the St. Rose of Lima Parish, 244 West Main St.,t Northborough. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Fitzgerald’s name to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough, MA 01532 is assisting the family with arrangements.
