Northborough School Receives Grant from Malborough Savings

NORTHBOROUGH – The Marlborough Savings Charitable Foundation awarded the Lincoln Street School PTO (LSS PTO) a $500 grant for an educational enhancement program. The program is Dinosaurs and is delivered by the Discovery Museum from Acton. Acting as paleontologists, students practice simple tool identification and usage as they excavate from a mock dig site, unearthing fossils and sharing their finds. Comparing the bodies of different dinosaurs and between parent and offspring builds an understanding of differences and similarities, heredity and variation.

The LSS PTO is a local non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote the collaborative relationship between home and school in order to enhance the educational and social environment at Lincoln Street School. The organization shall endeavor to achieve this purpose as follows: organize informational and social programs for parents, and teachers; provide cultural and educational enrichment programs and grants for students; host teacher and staff appreciation events; foster a sense of community and hospitality within the school; and generate the funds necessary to support the above activities.
