Spirit of Giving: 6 Nonprofits To Support In Northborough

NORTHBOROUGH, MA—It's easy to find a charity. Swing a stick and you'll hit some organization, somewhere, raising money for some cause. But many want to keep it truly local, and help the neighbors around you or the charities that operate right in your community.
The season of giving is upon us. After we smash into people with our carts and knock everyone over at the retail stores for Black Friday, and sit online grabbing red hot deals on Cyber Monday, we turn our thoughts to #GivingTuesday.
Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season on Nov. 28. Since its inaugural year in 2012, #GivingTuesday has become a movement that celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy with events throughout the year and a growing catalog of resources, said the organization. skills and experience who work, not just to care for the immediate needs of the patient, but to understand their psychological needs, keep watch for signs of physical abuse/ and or long term illnesses and to keep accurate files on each patient.

Here is a list of five nonprofit organizations operating or helping in Northborough. Learn more about them.
- Northborough Lions Club: The Northboro Lions is a group of individuals who live, work and have a vested interest in the town of Northborough and are committed to serving the community.
- Northborough Food Pantry:The Northborough Food Pantry is a source for supplemental food to those who are on a limited income or have an acute need. Residents of Northborough or persons with active membership in a church located in Northborough may shop at the pantry one time each week.
- Northborough Helping Hands Association: The mission of Northborough Helping Hands Association (NHHA) is to coordinate programs to assist those in need in the form of Thanksgiving food baskets, Christmas gifts, clothing, medical equipment, and emergency aid for special services.
- Northborough Education Foundation: The mission of the Northborough Education Foundation is to provide the Public Schools and the community with resources necessary to improve curriculum, programs and services above and beyond the level supported by the annual school budgets.
- The Mark Fidrych Foundation: organized for charitable and benevolent purposes, including, but in no way limited to, enhancing the lives of children and adults with disabilities and/or special needs through and with a focus on sports and sports education and various other means of promoting, maintaining, improving and creating opportunities and benefits aimed at improving the lives of such individuals.
