Tomahawks Wrestlers Win Home Opener

The Algonquin Regional High School varsity wrestling team won its home opener, defeating Tyngsborough, 43-31, on Wednesday.

The Tomahawks (3-1) got wins from senior captain Alex Mazzola (second-period pin at 195), junior David Wrin (first-period pin at 170), sophomore Austin Roche (13-2 decision at 132) and freshman Drew Cozzolino (5-0 decision at 106), according to the team's website.

Algonquin next competes in the Marlborough Tournament at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Marlborough.
