2. Children’s films: On Mondays, come and watch children films at the North End Branch Library (25 Parmenter St.). Call the library at 617-227-8135 to verify that this event has not been rescheduled or canceled.

3. Book sale: The Friends of the North End Branch Library are looking for donations of books, CDs and DVDs for their book sale, coming up on Saturday, May 18. For more information about the Friends, visit www.friendsnelibrary.org.

4. Eliot School fundraiser: Tickets are now available for the Eliot K-8 Innovation School’s fourth annual Spring Fling Gala Auction, to be held June 27 at the Fairmont Battery Wharf Hotel on the North End waterfront. The event will include dinner, dancing, a silent auction and raffle items. Tickets cost $100 per person and are available online at eliotk8school.org.

5. Yard waste collection: The City of Boston has begun spring leaf collection. Residents can place leaf and yard waste in large paper leaf bags or open barrels marked “yard waste,” to be collected on their usual recycling day. No plastic bags will be collected.
