5 Things: First Fridays at the MFA, Saturday Movie
Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on April 5 in the North End.

1. Rain possible: Today will be mostly cloudy with a slight chance of rain, according to the National Weather Service. High: 57, Low: 32. Weekend forecast: Saturday will be sunny with a high near 48 and a low around 36. Sunday will be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, a high near 54 and a low around 44.
2. Saturday movie: Drop by the North End Branch Library (25 Parmenter St.) this Saturday, April 6 at noon for a screening of “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.” This program is free and open to all.
3. Night at the museum: MFA First Fridays are held on the first Friday of every month from 6-9:30 p.m. With the purchase of admission to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, 465 Huntington Ave. ($25 adult, $23 seniors), you can explore the exhibits, enjoy music, cash bars featuring signature cocktails and delicious tapas available for purchase. This event is open to visitors ages 21 and up; purchase tickets in advance at mfa.org or at the door.

4. Civil War remembrance: The JW Conway Bunker Hill American Legion Post 26 (23 Adams St.) will host a program of remembrance on the 152nd anniversary of the Civil War on Sunday, April 7 at 12:30 p.m. The event will include speakers from the Charlestown Historical Society and Civil War Roundtable of Massachusetts and an appearance by Charlestown High School’s Air Force Junior ROTC cadets.
5. Swing dance: Drop by Boston Swing Central’s studio (24 Roland St.) every Friday at 8 p.m. for dancing and live jazz music from the 1920s, ‘30s and ‘40s swing era. The $10 admission includes a beginner’s lesson from 8-9 p.m., with social dancing from 9 p.m. to midnight. No partner or prior experience is required.
