5 Things: NEAD, FOCCP Meetings

Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on May 14 in the North End.

1. Sunny: Today will be sunny with a high near 61 degrees and a low around 43, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Library fun: Drop by the North End Library (25 Parmenter St.) today at 10:30 a.m. for Baby Wiggles—a fun, interactive music program for babies, toddlers and their caregivers. Also today, at 10:30 a.m. at the West End Branch (151 Cambridge St.), children can enjoy songs, stories and other activities with the Spring Fairy.

3. NEAD meeting: North End Against Drugs meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the Nazzaro Community Center (30 N. Bennet St.). For more information about NEAD, contact Debra DeCristoforo at neadddc@gmail.com.

4. Friends meeting: The Friends of Christopher Columbus Park will hold their monthly meeting tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Mariner’s House (11 North Square). All are welcome to come help plan upcoming events and to learn more about the park. 

5. Free skin cancer screenings: Massachusetts Eye and Ear physicians Dr. Jessica Fewkes and Dr. Oon Tan will provide free skin cancer screenings tonight from 3-6 p.m. in the Carolyn and Peter Lynch Center for Reconstructive and Laser Surgery on the ninth floor at Mass. Eye and Ear (243 Charles St.). This screening is for those who do not have a dermatologist.
