5 Things: North End Against Drugs' Easter Party

Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on March 29 in the North End.

1. Easter Party: North End Against Drugs will hold their annual Easter Party this Saturday, March 30 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Nazzaro Center (30 N. Bennet St.). There will be Easter egg coloring and photos with the Easter Bunny from 10-11 a.m. and a puppet show, sponsored by City Councilor Sal LaMattina, at 11 a.m.

2. Good Friday: Boston Public Schools are closed today in observance of Good Friday. School will resume on Monday. Mark your calendars now for spring break, coming up on April 16-19.

3. Double feature: Drop by the North End Branch Library (25 Parmenter St.) this Saturday for a film double feature, starting with “King Kong Escapes” (1968) at 11 a.m. and followed by “King Kong vs. Godzilla” (1963).

4. E-reader 101: Ever wondered how to use an e-reader to check out books from the Boston Public Library? Drop by the Central Branch (700 Boylston St.) today at 2:30 p.m. with your e-reader and cord and learn how. This class is free and open to all.

5. Swing dance: Boston Swing Central (24 Roland St.) hosts a swing dance every Friday at 8 p.m. with dancing and live jazz music from the 1920s, ‘30s and ‘40s swing era. The $10 admission includes a beginner’s lesson from 8-9 p.m., with social dancing from 9 p.m. to midnight. No partner or prior experience is required.
