5 Things: Senate Debate, North Street Project Meeting
Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on March 27 in the North End.

1. Senate debate: U.S. Reps. Edward Markey and Stephen Lynch, Democratic candidates in the April 30 primary race for John Kerry’s U.S. Senate seat, are scheduled to debate for the first time tonight at the WCVB-TV studios in Needham. The debate will air on WCVB Channel 5 at 7 p.m.
2. Project meeting: MassDOT will hold a community meeting about the Callahan Tunnel Vent Building (North Street) Rehabilitation Project tonight at 6 p.m. at the Nazzaro Community Center (30 N Bennet St.). 3. Movie night: Drop by the North End Branch Library (25 Parmenter St.) today at 5:30 p.m. for a free screening of the 2002 movie "The Rookie" (Rated G, 127 minutes).

4. Job search help: Neighbors helping Neighbors USA meets every Wednesday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Boston Public Library’s Central Branch (700 Boylston St.). The free, peer-led group helps individuals in their job search.
5. Harvest on Vine fundraiser: Help out the Harvest on Vine food pantry in Charlestown by attending a fundraiser on Thursday, April 25 at the Knights of Columbus (545 Medford St.). The event will feature Karson Tager of Karson and Kennedy on Mix 104.1, with comedy by Tony V., DJ Jackie Kelly, catered food, raffle prizes and auction items. Tickets cost $30 each and are available at the St. Mary-St. Catherine of Siena Parish Center and Social Ministry Office in Charlestown.
