5 Things: Yard Sale Donations, 'Rising Tide' Talk
Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on May 30 in the North End.

1. Mostly sunny: Today will be mostly sunny with a high near 88 degrees and a low around 67, according to the National Weather Service.
2. Yard sale donations: The North End Music and Performing Arts Center is hosting its Yard Sale on the Prado this Saturday, and organizers will be collecting items to sell today and Friday from 3-5 p.m. at the NEMPAC building (16 Charter St.). Donate new or like-new clothing for children of all ages, sports equipment, winter gear, outdoor toys and similar items. For more information, email info@nempacboston.org. The yard sale will be held Saturday, June 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the NEMPAC building.
3. Rising tide discussion: Join The Boston Harbor Association’s Julie Wormser for a discussion on "Preparing for Climate Change and the Rising Tide" today at 7:30 p.m. at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital (300 First Ave.) in Charlestown. The event is free and open to all.

4. Book giveaway: Today at the Charlestown Branch Library (179 Main St.), musician Jay Mankita will perform for children, with a Reading is FUNdamental book giveaway following the performance.
5. Aquarium lecture: The New England Aquarium (1 Central Wharf) will host a free lecture, “SWITCH: Discover the Future of Energy," today at 7 p.m. Dr. Scott Tinker, director of the Bureau of Economic Geology of the University of Texas and state geologist of Texas, will be the featured speaker. This event is open to the public and is part of the aquarium’s free lecture series. This event will be held in the Simons IMAX Theatre.
