Amethyst Performing Free Concert at North End Park Friday Night

Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on Aug. 2 in the North End.

1. Chance of rain: Friday, Aug. 2 will be cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning, gradually becoming sunny later in the day, according to the National Weather Service. High: 83, Low: 64. Weekend forecast: Saturday and Sunday will be mostly sunny with a slight chance of showers Saturday afternoon. Highs near 80, lows around 60-63.

2. Saint Agrippina Feast begins: The feast of Saint Agrippina will begin Friday, Aug. 2 with the unveiling of the statue at 7 p.m. on Hanover Street followed by a procession and a performance by The Midnight Crew. See the full schedule here: http://bit.ly/13fGdzn.

3. Free concert: Boston-based Amethyst, a six-piece band that “combines pop, jazz and Latin influences,” will perform on the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway on Friday, Aug. 9. Concerts are free and will begin at 6 p.m. at the North End Park, 46 Cross St.

4. Fitness on the plaza: Get fit this summer with a free circuit style class led by Beantown Bootcamp on Friday mornings from 6:30-7:30 a.m. at City Hall Plaza. The class, part of Mayor Thomas Menino’s Boston Moves Program, is held rain or shine and is open to all levels.

5. Motorcyclists wanted: Boston motorcyclists are invited to participate in the first Boston Marathon Motorcycle Ride on Sunday, Aug. 11. The 65-mile ride will begin near the start of the Boston Marathon route in Hopkinton and will raise money for the Jimmy Fund. The event will include a wreath-laying ceremony on the MIT campus in memory of the late Officer Sean Collier, who was a strong Jimmy Fund supporter. Registration costs $35 per motorcycle and $10 per passenger.
