Cash Stolen from North End Fire Station Charity Collection Boot

The Hanover Street fixture was eventually found but the money inside was gone.

A collection boot at the front of a North End fire station went missing recently, when it was located reports indicate the money had been stolen.

CBS Boston reports that the charity collection vessel, a firefighters boot and a small lock box to hold the money, went missing over the course of the last few days.

It turned up in a nearby fountain, but hundreds of dollars were gone and the lock box was damaged.
