Daily 5: NEAD Sports Night at Polcari Playground

1. Mostly sunny and hot: The heat wave will continue with mostly sunny skies and a high near 101 degrees on Friday, July 19. Heat index values could reach 105, according to the National Weather Service. Low around 78. Weekend forecast: Saturday will be mostly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Some storms could produce small hail, gusty winds and heavy rain. High: 92, Low: 70. 2. NEAD Sports Night: North End Against Drugs will host a Sports Night at the Polcari Playground (between North Bennet and Prince streets) on Friday, July 19 from 6-9 p.m., according to a post on NorthEndWaterfront.com. The event is open primarily to ages 8-15, although six- and seven-year-olds are welcome if a parent stays with them. There will be various fun games and activities.

3. Free Fun Fridays: Explore some of the Boston area's best museums this summer for free through the “Free Fun Fridays” program offered by Highland Street Foundation. 4. Sunday movie series: Boston Push Cart’s free movie series will be held on Sundays through Aug. 18 at Christopher Columbus Park in the North End. Movies are open to the public and begin at sunset, the NorthEndWaterfront.com reports. The July 21 feature will be “Singing in the Rain.”

5.
