Dom's Restaurant Owner To Discuss Book

Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on June 26 in the North End.

1. Possible T-storms: Today will be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the day, according to the National Weather Service. Some storms could produce small hail, gusty winds and heavy rain. Rain and storms will continue into the evening. High: 88, Low: 69.

2. North End author talk: Dom Capossela, author of “Dom’s: An Odyssey,” will discuss his book, which chronicles growing up in the North End and the history of Dom’s Restaurant, tonight at 6 p.m. at the Nazzaro Center (30 North Bennet St.). Sponsored by the North End Historical Society, the talk is free and open to the public.

3. Parks meeting: The Friends of the North End Parks will meet today at 6:30 p.m. at the Mariner’s House (11 North Square).

4. Forbidden film: Drop by the North End Branch Library (25 Parmenter St.) today at 6 p.m. to watch the 1940 film “Waterloo Bridge,” part of the library’s Forbidden Hollywood Film Series.

5. Baseball classic: Watch the North End team face off against the South End team during the second of two games scheduled for the fourth annual North 2 South Baseball Classic. Sponsored by the North End Athletic Association and South End Baseball, the series’ second game will be held at 5 p.m. at Peter’s Park in the South End.
