Shop locally: People come from all over Boston (as well as a Patch editor) to shop in the North End boutiques. If you need to purchase a present or want something pretty for yourself, there are plenty of lovely shops here including LIT at 236 Hanover Street and Heart & Sole at Street.
Make it a Date: It's Friday night so go out for a traditional Italian meal at any number of resturants in the neighborhood including Mamma Maria at 3 North Square.

This Day in History: On Sept. 21, 1780, during the Revolutionary War, American General Benedict Arnold met British Major John Andre to discuss handing over West Point to the British in return for money and a high position in the enemy's army.
