The neighborhood staple, Galleria Umberto at 289 Hanover Street reopened on Monday, July 30.
Known for the Sicillian style pizza and calzones, the lunch line was almost out the door. Galleria Umberto opened up in 1974.
"My mom first took me here when I was 8 years old, I'll be 42 tomorrow," Caleb Wiggins said. "I order two Arancini and a slice on my birthday." Wiggins grew up in Boston and currently lives in Malibu, CA. He came back East to visit family and to visit Galleria Umberto as part of his birthday tradition. "When I lived on Charter Street, I would time it so I could get here at 11:50 a.m. By the time I got my food, the line would be out the door."
