Gym Manager Found Handgun Wrapped in a Towel in the Locker Room

On a list of weird things to find in a locker room, there's bound to be some strange items. But at International Health Club at 1 International Plaza, one man unwrapped a heavy bath towel and found a loaded Ruger 9mm at 2 p.m. on May 3.

The manager of Fitness International Health Club told police that he found a handgun wrapped in a towel on the counter of the men’s locker room on the fourth floor. The manager took the gun up to his office and called the police. There were seven round in the magazine.

The manager then went around asking patrons if they had left something wrapped in a towel up on the counter to no avail. Detectives took the gun and the nylon holster back to the station.
