Water Service Restored To North End Street

A prominent part of the North End was closed while repairs are being made.

BOSTON — Water service has been restored following what fire officials called a "major water main break" that shut down Richmond Street for nearly 12 hours.

Richmond Street cuts through Hanover Street in the North End, in between Mike's Pastry and Modern Pastry.

The break was reported at 5:15 a.m.
