'North End' Documentary Premieres Saturday

The movie chronicles Boston's historic Italian neighborhood.

A feature-length documentary chronicling the history of Boston's Italian-American community in the North End premieres Saturday.

"Boston's North End: An Italian American Story" is based on historical records and interviews with Italian American North Enders and their descendants, and includes the stories of former World Welterweight Boxing Champion Tony DeMarco; Stephen Puleo, author of “The Boston Italians”; and “Dark Tide: The Great Boston Molasses Flood of 1919.”

The North End Historical Society will debut the film Saturday, 6:30 p.m., at Historic St. Stephen's Church, 401 Hanover St. It's a free event, but the NEHS asks that you reserve a seat.
