Pet Contest and possible New Restaurant in the North End

It was a busy week in the North End.

On Tuesday, we attended a meeting where a North End resident described his plans for a new restaurant that he hopes to open on Hanover Street.

We also started a contest. North End Patch is posting photos of animals and we’d like you to select captions. Should you be the winner, we will post the photo and your caption on our Facebook page.

Other news took place as well this week.

Annie Dookhan, the state drug lab chemist accused of mishandling evidence, will face further indictments.

Governor Deval Patrick announced on Tuesday that he will have a new chief of staff. Brendan Ryan will take over the job in January.

And there was exciting news.

Although no one in Massachusetts hit all six numbers to win the full $579 million Powerball prize, two Boston residents each won $1 million.
