The following information was supplied by the Boston Police Department. Charges listed do not indicate convictions.

A Chelsea woman was arrested for crack possession in the North End over the weekend.

Boston Police officers were working a drug control operation on Canal Street on Saturday, July 13 at about 5:40 a.m. when they saw a woman cross Causeway Street and make contact with a man, who pointed her in the direction of the CVS parking lot at 101 Canal St., according to reports. Officers saw the woman come back to the man and make a hand-to-hand transaction. The man climbed into a cab.

Officers followed the cab up North Washington Street and Chelsea Street. At this point, officers pulled over the cab. Officers removed the man from the cab and asked where the drugs were. The man said that he had them in his cigarette pack. Officers opened the pack and found three rocks thought to be crack cocaine. When officers asked where the man had purchased the drugs, he allegedly told police that the woman he was with sold them to him. Officers issued a summons to the man and sent him on his way.
