Police: Lowell Man Used Broken Beer Bottle as a Weapon on Causeway and Canal Street

A Lowell man was charged with using a broken bottle in a fight on Wednesday.

Boston Police responded to a report of a person stabbed near Causeway and Canal Street at about 10:05 p.m. on June 5.

The male victim flagged down the officers and told them that a large argument took place on the corner of Causeway and Canal Street between large groups of people. In the midst of this argument, an unknown male grabbed an empty beer bottle and smashed the bottom on the ground. According to the victim, the suspect then stabbed a woman in the neck area. When the male victim tried to intervene, he was cut by the bottle on his chest as the suspect tried to grab him.

Both parties refused medical attention.

Officers charged Christopher McCormack of 81 Bridge Street, Lowell with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
