'Rising Tide' Talk, Govt. Center Garage Meeting Today

Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on June 19 in the North End.

1. Partly sunny: Today will be partly sunny with a high near 74 degrees and a low around 56, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Rising Tide discussion: Julie Wormser, executive director of The Boston Harbor Association, will give a presentation on the association’s recent report on climate change and coastal flooding, “Preparing for the Rising Tide,” today at 6:30 p.m. at the Fairmont Battery Wharf Hotel, in the Captain William Sturgis Room (enter across from the main hotel entrance). 3. Government Center project meeting: The Boston Redevelopment Authority will host a public meeting tonight at 6 p.m. to discuss a recently filed proposal to redevelop the Government Center Garage, located at 1 Congress St., into six new buildings with office, residential, hotel and retail uses. The meeting will be held at City Hall in the ninth-floor BRA boardroom.

4. Forbidden film: Drop by the North End Branch Library (25 Parmenter St.) today at 6 p.m. to watch the 1932 film “Frisco Jenny,” part of the library’s Forbidden Hollywood Film Series.

5. Twitter talk: The Boston Redevelopment Authority will host a Twitter chat on the new proposed urban agriculture rules today from 12-1 p.m. Use the hashtag #UrbanAgBOS to ask questions and provide feedback on the proposal. More details can be found here: http://patch.com/A-4HZH
