Story Time with Freddy the Frog, Parks Meeting Aug. 6 in North End
Deadlines, events and other items you should know about on Aug. 6 in the North End.

1. Sunny: Tuesday, Aug. 6 will be sunny with a calm wind, according to the National Weather Service. High: 80, Low: 62.
2. Parks meeting: The North End/Waterfront Residents’ Association Parks and Open Space Committee meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Nazzaro Center (30 N. Bennet St.).
3. Story times: The North End Branch Library (25 Parmenter St.) will host story times for toddlers at 10:30 a.m. and babies at 11:05 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6. At 4 p.m., children of all ages are invited to a special story time, “Ferndale Tales with Freddy the Frog.” No registration is required.

4. Private music lessons: Registration is now open for fall private music instruction at the North End Music and Performing Arts Center. Learn more and register online at nempacboston.org.
5. Teachers needed for survey: Researchers at Boston University are looking for area teachers for study on teacher responses to the April 15 attacks at the Boston Marathon and the effects on students. Compensation is available. For details, visit www.bu.edu/sed/teachersurvey.
