This Week In Review July 30 to August 3

Here is what went on in town this week.

Β

This was a busy week in the North End and we know it can be easy to fall behind on the news around town. Here are five stories we think you should take a look at:

1.Β : A half hour before the 6:30 p.m. meeting at the Nazzaro Center took place, two people sat on a park bench under the influence of hard drugs were dealt with by members of the community. The police were called and the man was taken away by ambulance, while the female was able to stand on her own two feet and walked away from the scene. Sergeant Thomas Lema said that the pair would be subject to charges.

4. : You may have seen lab-coated technicians and scientific equipment at the North Station and Haymarket MBTA stops through Aug. 5, as government officials test our understanding of chemical and biological attacks.

Officials said not to be alarmed. They were releasing odorless gasses and particles at 20 stations in an effort to map how actual pathogens might move through the T and, perhaps, onto the streets of Boston.
