Westbound Lane of Ted Williams Tunnel to Close Overnight Tuesday
The tunnel will reopen Wednesday.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation will close the westbound lane of the Ted Williams Tunnel starting at 11 p.m. Tuesday night for maintenance, MassDOT said.
Traffic, as such, will be redirected through the Sumner Tunnel to Haymarket to continue to Rte. I-93 southbound. Vehicles from there will be directed to Rte. I-90 westbound, where traffic will be maintained in the right-hand lane as crews work on the left wall of the Prudential Tunnel, MassDOT said.

Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes to avoid delays; the tunnel is expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17.
