According to the official Powerball website, players must match all five white balls (in no order) and the red Powerball in order to claim it all. The winning numbers will be pulled Wednesday, January 13 at 10:59 p.m. If you’re thinking of playing, tickets sales cut off 59 minutes before the drawing.

We asked our readers on Facebook how they would give back to North Reading if they struck gold. Here’s what your neighbors said:

  • “Believe it or not, I think about this every time there is a big jackpot. Senior center, community center with meeting space, fitness areas, indoor and outdoor pools, endowments for the schools, library, and senior center, parks, etc. Senior housing and transportation for seniors and disabled, with endowments for continuation and upkeep. New town hall. $1.3 billion might just about do it.”
  • “I’d love to help the Food Pantry more; refrigerated cases, all those items people need, but can’t get on food stamps (paper products, cleaning supplies, diapers), whatever the staff says they need at the moment.”
  • “#1 Help the seniors in town with a desperately needed new senior living community. We need more than just a senior center (although that’s needed too) #2 Let’s pay off the debt for the new schools - that would benefit everyone.”
  • “I would buy a building dedicated to Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. They could have all meetings and events there!”
  • “Skating rink behind the fire station.”
  • “A Fourth of July Fireworks Trust Fund and pay everyone’s property taxes for one year.”
