Hypodermic Needle Found on Concord Street

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the North Reading Police Department from Friday through Sunday. The information is open to the public.
Friday, May 3
- At 8:33 a.m., a UPS truck driver reported that one of his trucks hit a pole in front of the UPS store on Main Street. RMLD responded to fix the pole.
- At 10:44 a.m., a caller reported that his credit card was used to purchase items online.
- At 1:19 p.m., a caller reported four youths jumping off the gray POD at the high school. The youths were sent on their way.
- At 7:19 p.m., an employee from Walmart reported that a customer left without paying for DVD's.
- At 10:47 p.m., a caller reported hearing gun shots or fireworks near Spruce Road. Police checked the area, but were unable to find anything.
Saturday, May 4

- At 9:55 a.m., a caller reported finding a hypodermic needle on Concord Street. Police disposed of the needle.
- At 6:03 p.m., a Hawthorne Terrace resident reported that the rear plate was stolen from his vehicle.
- At 9:49 p.m., a Hickory Lane resident reported hearing 12 loud explosions. Police located a gathering on Chestnut Street and believed that was the source of the noise.
Sunday, May 5
- At 9:34 p.m., an Elm Street resident reported a suspicious vehicle on her street. Police found that a male and female were in the vehicle talking.
