North Reading PD Notify Community Of Level 3 Sex Offender

The town issued a notice on Monday about a level three sex offender.

NORTH READING, MA — The North Reading Police Department issues a notice to the community on Monday that a level 3 sex offender was living in the town.

The notification is standard procedure when the department is notified by the Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry Board of a final classification for a level 3 sex offender.

The person was convicted in 1995 of assault of a child with the intent to commit rape and convicted in 1996 rape and abuse of a child. More information can be found in the sex offender flyer that was published and on the Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry Board website.

Level 2 and 3 sex offender information is made public by the Sex Offender Registry Board because the levels are considered a moderate or high risk to reoffend and that the degree of dangerousness posed to the public is such that public safety interest is served by public availability of registration information.
