Obituary: Anthony R. Gurliaccio, 84, of North Reading
He enjoyed ballroom dancing, telling jokes, collecting postcards and going to postcard shows.

Anthony R. Gurliaccio, 84, of North Reading and formerly of East Boston, died Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at the Meadow View Center in North Reading. He was the husband of the late Irene (Crognale) Gurliaccio.
Born in East Boston, MA on February 1, 1931. He was the son of the late Lazzaro and Guiseppina (DeMeo) Gurliaccio. He was raised in East Boston and was a graduate of East Boston High School. Anthony was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served in 1952. He was a retired U.S. Postal Clerk.

He has lived at 29 Main St., in North Reading for the past 27 years and was a member of St. Theresa’s Church. He enjoyed ballroom dancing, telling jokes, collecting postcards and going to postcard shows.
Family members include his niece, Karen T. Brush of Bryant Pond, ME and Lisa Ward of Wilmington; his sister- in-law, Margi Gurli of Chelsea, brother-in-law, Rocky Ciancio of Wakefield and several grand nieces and grand nephews; he was the brother of the late Michael Gurliaccio, Joseph Gurli, L. Catherine Ciancio, Geraldine Yacovangelo and Eleanor Gurliaccio. Also survived by his stepson, Dr. Dino Crognale and his wife Dr. Janice Crognale and their two daughters and a son, living in Kenya, Africia, as missionaries for many years.

His Funeral will be held from the Croswell Funeral Home,19 Bow St., North Reading, on Wednesday, March 4 at 9 a.m., followed by a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter St. (Rt. 62) North Reading. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, prior to the Funeral Mass from 9 to 10 a.m. Interment will be held in the Chapel Hill Mausoleum in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
