Resident Arrested on Charges of Attempting to Commit Crime

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the North Reading Police Department from Friday through Monday. The information is open to the public.
Arrests
At 1:56 p.m. Friday, a male walked into the Walgreens and handed a note to an employee that said he wanted all the OC and Zanax in the store. As a result, Nathan M. Paonessa, 29, of 9 Gordon Rd. was arrested on charges of attempting to commit a crime.

Friday, June 28
- At 11:02 a.m., a Peabody Court resident reported that the construction at the new high school is disrupting his home life.
- At 2:34 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Chestnut Street. No injuries were reported.

- At 3:09 a.m., an emergency caller reported a car accident on Concord Street. The injuries were unknown.
- At 5:32 a.m., a caller reported that he fell asleep at the wheel and hit a pole on Burroughs Road.
- At 10:06 p.m., a caller reported that her iPhone was stolen from Sports, Spirits and Steaks.
Sunday, June 30
- At 12:26 a.m., a caller reported hearing noise at Ipswich River Park. Police found barrels and porta-potties tipped over and tables stacked up.
- At 7:14 a.m., a Bishops Way resident reported finding graffiti on a home on her street.
- At 7:58 p.m., a Park Street resident reported that his mailbox was damaged.
