Resident Summonsed on Charges of Leaving Accident With Property Damage

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the North Reading Police Department from Friday through Sunday. The information is open to the public.

Friday, July 19

  • At 7:28 a.m., a caller reported that a car crashed into the shed at Ipswich River Park. A 19-year-old North Reading resident was summonsed on charges of leaving the scene of an accident with property damage.
  • At 1:48 p.m., a Main Street resident reported seeing a male near her vehicle. When she got closer to the vehicle, she found the gas tank open.

  • At 7:55 p.m., an Elm Street resident reported a male trying to open the locked doors at a neighbor’s house. Police found that the male was the home owner’s father who was checking on the house.
  • At 9:50 p.m., a Hillview Road resident reported fireworks landing on her roof.

Sunday, July 21

  • At 1:07 p.m., a caller reported finding a pouch of needles on Main Street. Police disposed of the needles.
