Richard W. Svehla: Longtime Resident, North Reading High School Alumnus

Richard W. Svehla, a resident of North Reading for more than 40 years, died on Saturday, June 13. He was 59 years old.

Born in Chicago in 1956, Svehla was a resident of North Reading for 44 years and a 1974 graduate of North Reading High School. He worked in the printing industry for many years and was a big sports fan.

Svehla enjoyed New England sports teams, but was very passionate about the University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball team after growing up in Lexington, Kentucky. Additionally, he enjoyed watching his nieces participate in sports, including ice hockey, softball and volleyball, all the way through college.

Services will be held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow St. in North Reading, on Friday, June 19 at 7 p.m.
