RMLD Invites High School Students to Participate in Art Contest

Up to five winners will be selected, and all participants credited community service hours.

The Reading Municipal Light Department (RMLD) invites high school students from Reading, North Reading, Wilmington, and areas of Lynnfield served by the RMLD to participate in its 5th Annual High School Art Contest. Any two-dimensional art medium will be accepted, including, but not limited to, drawings, paintings, sketches, photography, and graphic art. Artwork must be submitted online by Friday, March 25, 2022.

The continuing pandemic has made versatility a critical characteristic for businesses, schools, and individuals. To that end, the theme of this year's contest is VERSATILITY. Students are asked to visually portray the concept of versatility while incorporating the RMLD and/or electricity into their artwork.
Each student who submits artwork by the deadline will receive a certificate for ten hours of community service. Up to five winners will be selected based on the number of submissions received and the content of the artwork. Winners will receive a gift card for qualified school or art supplies with a top prize of up to $100. One or more of the winning submissions will be selected to be featured on the cover of RMLD's 2021 Annual Report.
