Selectmen Holding Hearing on 'Complete Streets' Policy

Resources available through the program include funds for construction of sidewalks, bike paths and upgrades for ADA compliance.

North Reading, MA - Selectmen are holding a public hearing next week on a proposed policy that could help bring state department of transportation funds into the town.

The North Reading Board of Selectmen will hold a public meeting on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 7:45 p.m. in Room 14, North Reading Town Hall to review and vote on a proposed “Complete Streets” Policy.

Adoption of this policy will make the town eligible for funding under Mass DOT’s Complete Streets Funding Program, authorized by the 2014 Transportation Bond Bill.

The policy provides for the town’s consideration of all users, ages and abilities in planning for transportation projects. Resources available through the program include funds for construction of sidewalks, bike paths and upgrades for ADA compliance. Interested parties are invited to attend.
