Vesey Leads Harvard into NCAA Tourney, Named ECAC Player of the Year, Breaks Goal Record
It was quite a weekend for the North Reading resident.

North Reading’s Jimmy Vesey likely had a better weekend than you.
Vesey picked up the ECAC Media Association Player of the Year award, led Harvard University to the Whitelaw Cup, picked up the tournament’s most outstanding player award, broke a ECAC tournament goal record and scored his 31st goal.

Oh, and he led his team into the NCAA tournament. Not a bad weekend.
The North Reading resident picked up his 31st goal of the year in the 4-2 win over Colgate on Saturday. After the game, he was named the tournament’s most outstanding player. Vesey also broke the ECAC Hockey tournament record with nine goals.

The win sends Harvard to the NCAA tournament. It was Harvard’s first ECAC tournament win since 2006.
The awards might not be over for Vesey. He’s also up for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award for outstanding college hockey player in the nation. You can help him by voting here.
