WEATHER UPDATE: Possible Stormy Weather in North Reading This Week

After a weekend of sunshine, more rain may be making its way back to the region this week, weather forecasters say.

Monday is expected to be partly sunny, with a high near 82 during the day and mostly cloudy at night, according to the National Weather Service. However, Tuesday brings a chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible in the afternoon. There is the possibility of showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday night, as well, with patchy fog after 1 a.m., the NWS said.

The chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected to continue through Wednesday. Weather forecasters are expecting a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday, dropping to 30 percent on Wednesday night, some of which could produce heavy rain.

• Tuesday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 5 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. Southeast wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
• Tuesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Patchy fog before midnight, then patchy fog after 1 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. Southeast wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
• Wednesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Patchy fog before 9 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 82. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
• Wednesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10 p.m., then a slight chance of showers between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
