1. Worship
Services will be at St. Mary’s Church 8 and 9:30 a.m., at Unitarian Congregational Church at 9 a.m., Trinitarian Congregational Church at 10 a.m. and Chartley Methodist Church at 10:30 a.m.
2. Christmas Parade, Carols and Cider Open House
Mansfield will hold a Christmas parade starting 3 p.m. from Main Street to the South Common where trees will be lit up. Following the parade, the Congregational Church will hold a Carols and Cider Open House. John Read, church organist, and Carol Ham will lead the choir in the singing of traditional carols to kick off the Christmas season. The Silver Chimers Handchime Choir from the Mansfield Council on Aging will play holiday songs.
3. Legos program at Children’s Discovery Museum
Children’s Discovery Museum, 177 Main St., Acton, will host the Build It and Lego Zone programs today 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Build It is for toddlers using Duplos. Lego Zone is a community building project for all ages. All programs are free with admission. Admission is $11 for adults and children, $10 for seniors 60 and older and free for children younger than 1 and members. Teachers are always free—with or without students! 4. Statement from Lieutenant Governor Murray on economic recovery
“The President has set the country on a path of economic recovery and with his reelection, we have a chance to continue this progress. The American people voted to keep moving forward and they voted for action. This includes working together to deliver a real solution to address the deficit. President Obama has proposed a fair and balanced approach – including asking those who earn more to pay their fair share, and extending tax cuts for families making less than $250,000 a year. This approach makes sense and would prevent taxes from going up for 98 percent of Americans and 97 percent of all small businesses. I urge Congress to act quickly to reach an agreement.”
