Barrowsville Station in Norton a Family Tradition

Owner Albert Brazao said his father opened his first restaurant when Albert was only 2 years old.

Albert Brazao has had a long time in the food industry, even before he was born you might say.

“I was born into it,” he said.

Brazao said his father was his inspiration, as he was a chef all of Brazao’s life and beyond.

He took over the Barrowsville Station in 2007, after moving in and changing around what was at the time strictly a liquor store.

“Someone had told me this liquor store was available,” he said. “I drove around the neighborhood and I thought that if we put in food it would attract a lot more people. When we bought this place in May of 2007, a year later the kitchen was open and ready to go.”

He said his father built and operated Albert’s Restaurant in Stoughton for most of his life. He said his father was a chef before that.

“My father built the restaurant when I was 2 and was in it ever since,” Brazao said.

He added his father was a chef in many other restaurants before Albert’s in Stoughton, including Christo's in Brockton and many Boston area hospitals. He said he began cooking overseas in Brazil, Venezuela and the Caribbean.

“He started cooking overseas in the army,” he said.

Brazao worked with his father constantly and food was a big part of family life growing up.

“I watched and helped out at a very young age,” he said.

He and his family sold Albert's in 2006 to branch out to something different. He said he wanted to provide a place for people to come in and get whatever they needed, but cooking is still his favorite thing.

“I buy top quality meats and cheeses,” he said. “For calzones, we’ll do anything the customer requests. I do a chicken parm calzone, an alfredo calzone, buffalo chicken and mac and cheese.”
