MA Man Beat Dog With Baseball Bat After It Ate His Whopper: DA
Authorities said Gregory Ostiguy, of New Bedford, beat his dog with a baseball bat after it ate his Whopper sandwich in Dartmouth.

NEW BEDFORD, MA — A New Bedford man who police said beat his dog with a baseball bat did so after the animal ate his Whopper, according to prosecutors. Gregory Ostiguy, 50, was charged with cruelty to animals. The dog survived the attack, police said.
The alleged attack happened in Dartmouth in Bristol County. Police said Ostiguy was seen in a vehicle attacking his dog on Colonial Way in the center of town at about 6:50 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the scene and placed Ostiguy under arrest.

The dog was transported to a local veterinarian.
Ostiguy was held on $5,000 bail Monday after his arraignment in New Bedford District Court, according to ABC6. Ostiguy allegedly told police he attacked the dog because he worked all day and was upset the animal ate his Whopper sandwich from Burger King, ABC reported. Ostiguy's lawyer said he is a homeless Marine veteran who suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder.
