Norton Memorial Day Parade to Add New Stop This Year

Master Sgt. Gregory Trent Memorial to be dedicated.

From the Town of Norton:

Norton has added a new stop to this year's Memorial Day parade being held May 27. The Master Sgt. Gregory Trent Memorial will be dedicated to the town at the close of the ceremony, where Trent's parents, Barbara and Gregory Trent will be present.

The event, hosted by the Norton VFW, will start off on its usual path with participants meeting at the Yelle Elementary School and taking off down West Main Street toward Pine Street at 10 a.m.

The first stop will be at the Pine Street Cemetery and then parade participants will march to the square on the corner of Pine and West Main streets where a flag will be raised.

The final stop before the dedication will be the town common. The dedication is estimated to start between 10:30 a.m. and 10:45.

After the dedication, participants and onlookers are invited to go back to the Yelle School for hot dogs, ice cream and beverages.
